The sixth RICOMET conference on Social Sciences and Humanities in Ionising Radiation Research will take place at the Greek Atomic Energy Commission (EEAE) in Athens, Greece from 1st to 3rd of September 2020.
This edition will give attention to societal aspects of nuclear waste management, radon air pollution, environmental remediation, naturally occurring radioactive material and upgrading the strategic research agenda in social science and humanities (SSH) in ionising radiation. In parallel, different workshops and training courses will be organised: training course on risk communication, training course on development of communication tools, workshop on science diplomacy, scenario workshop on ethics in SSH research in ionising radiation. To boost interaction and learning process between SSH researchers, researchers from other disciplines and end-users (e.g. authorities, implementers), a new format of the conference will be conducted, including interactive sessions, round table discussions, series games, role exchanges and participatory surprises organised by early career scientists.
A post-conference event – the General Assembly of the European Platform for Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH) research relating to Ionising Radiation SHARE will be organised on 3th of September afternoon and evening.
